Introduction

Welcome to Decision Jar! This Privacy Policy explains how Volvox LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices. Decision Jar is designed with privacy in mind – your decision data stays on your device.

Information We Collect

Local Storage Only

Decision Jar stores all your jars, decision history, settings, and preferences locally on your device. This includes:

  • Your created jars and options
  • Decision history and statistics
  • App preferences (theme, language, sounds)
  • Favorite jars

This data is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share a jar.

No User Accounts

Decision Jar does not require account creation. We do not collect personal identification information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Analytics Data

We use Amplitude and Vexo Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. Analytics data collected includes:

  • App usage patterns (screens visited, features used)
  • Device type and operating system version
  • App performance metrics
  • General geographic region (country-level)

💡 All analytics data is anonymized and cannot identify individual users. You can opt out in Settings.

Crash Reporting

We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include:

  • Device model and operating system
  • App version and build number
  • Error stack traces and diagnostic data
  • App state at the time of the crash

Crash reports do not contain your personal jar data or decision history.

Third-Party Services

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers and IP address for ad personalization. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements.

In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. Transactions are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not have access to your payment details.

AI Features (OpenAI)

When you use AI suggestions, your jar context may be sent to OpenAI to generate options. This data is processed according to OpenAI's privacy policy and is not used to train AI models.

Data Transmission

We do not transmit your personal jar data to our servers. Your jars and decision history remain on your device unless you:

  • Share a jar via QR code or link (shared data is encoded in the link itself)
  • Use AI suggestions (only jar context is sent, not your full history)

Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

We respect your privacy rights under applicable data protection laws. You have the right to:

  • Access: Know what personal data we collect
  • Delete: Remove your local data via Settings > Clear All Data
  • Opt-out: Disable analytics in the App settings
  • Portability: Export your data via jar sharing

For California residents: We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention & Deletion

Local data is stored until you choose to delete it through "Clear All Data" in Settings, or until you uninstall the App.

Analytics and crash data is retained according to service providers' retention policies (typically 14-90 days for detailed data).
